The new and powerful MDT homeXpert® server makes setting up a wireless smart home significantly easier – without any ETS programming knowledge or costly cable installation. The system is based on the proven, professional KNX RF standard – providing customers with a tested professional solution. The homeXpert server coordinates the entire smart home, from lighting and shading to radiator thermostats. Thanks to stable wireless networking between components, a professional smart home system can be installed quickly and without structural alterations.

How to make lighting smart
Push Button Lite 55 Basic
Enables the control of lighting or shading without the need for an additional actuator, as this is already integrated. The push-button is compatible with all standard 55 mm switch ranges.
KNX RF+ Universal Interface
The push-button interface is installed behind a conventional light switch, thereby turning a standard light switch into a smart one.

How to make your shading smart
Push Button Lite 55 Basic

Heating Valve Drive
Replaces the analogue radiator thermostat and automatically regulates the room to the desired temperature, available in three variants.

- Is your customer moving into a private home and looking to combine their homeXpert project with wired KNX components? No problem. The homeXpert project can be uploaded to ETS at any time – without reprogramming, but with enhanced functionality.
Frequently asked questions about homeXpert
Communication between the homeXpert server and RF+ devices takes place via the 868.0 MHz – 868.6 MHz frequency band. The server is required for commissioning and handles communication with individual RF+ devices during setup and parameterisation. An MDT account is mandatory for commissioning. The free MDT app must be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store.
As an electrician, you are perfectly prepared. The homeXpert is connected to the power supply and LAN – and you are ready to begin. System components are either connected to 230 V or battery-operated. No lengthy training is required for commissioning. The software guides you step by step – from server setup to creating rooms and linking products into a smart system. This allows you to effortlessly expand your service portfolio with forward-looking technology that will impress your customers.
Yes. If required, the wireless smart home can later be integrated into a wired KNX system. The practical advantage: no reprogramming is necessary, as the homeXpert settings can be transferred to ETS. A line coupler is required to connect the wireless components to wired products.
All KNX RF+ products from MDT listed on this page can be integrated.
In addition, homeXpert is based on the internationally certified KNX RF+ standard, offering maximum flexibility. Licences for integrating products from other manufacturers can be purchased via the “Works with homeXpert” platform. KNX RF and KNX RF+ refer to the same verified standard of the KNX Association. This means that all products bearing these names and the KNX logo are tested and certified for compatibility. At MDT, the “+” indicates additional features offered by MDT – such as the innovative DeepSleep mode for battery-powered devices, support for secure devices and a dedicated range tool.
Yes. The homeXpert server supports the KNX Secure standard. Our cloud servers are located exclusively in Germany. This ensures high security standards, fast response times and reliable data processing in accordance with European data protection legislation.
